Three swatches

We bring three large fabric swatches to the first meeting — not paint chips. Fabric carries texture, and texture is half of what makes a colour feel right.

Two photos

We ask the client to show us two rooms they love. Not Pinterest-curated boards — actual photos, even bad ones, of rooms they've walked into and remembered. The palette almost always reveals itself.

One question

"What do you want this room to feel like at 8pm on a Tuesday?" — not Saturday brunch, not party night. The everyday answer is the honest one, and it's usually a quieter palette than the client first asks for.
